This is what I aspire to achieve.
The #bitcoin plebs series of woodcarvings is just the beginning.
I want to achieve mastery and will achieve this through proof of work.
Finally finished and would like to present to you Julian Assange handcarved from basswood.
Particularly pleased with the eyes on this model, getting better.
Not happy with the hair, would've liked to carve a longer hairstyle but still unsure how to accomplish this.

Plebeian Market
My goal in carving the plebs from woodcarving is to reach sculpting mastery. I believe #bitcoin will usher in renaissance 2.0 and I want to be the modern equivalent of Michaelangelo.
A heady goal I agree but with that in mind can anyone critique my work so I can improve?

Well, I reckon this is just about ready for oiling and final prep before painting )). Almost finished the sanding process to tidy it up.

Still a ways to go, but head shape and beard shape looking good, and I'm definitely improving on eyes and ears, depth of nose and eyes on face etc. Proportions all done by eye... )))
