A human is born and wired into a simulation. They never experience real life. Then they die. How does God judge their actions, as they never acted in reality or did anything real? Obviously, the intention behind their actions is what matters as it reveals the disposition of the free will of the soul. But it is interesting to think that virtual actions could be just as morally consequential as real actions if the actor cannot distinguish between them. That's the point of this mental exercise. There's probably some well developed thoughts on this sort of thing that I could read somewhere if I knew where to look. Aquinas, Catechism, or maybe newadvent.org. Just a random musing as I ate lunch.
