For years, my elderly pet sitter begged me to use Venmo.
Last year I finally relented (to the PayPal mafia, for this one case).
Both to help her out and to give a privacy lesson.
Showed her all the transactions I can see from everyone related to her and everyone related to them and …
….specifically those for pet sitting clients paying up front as they headed out of town with a memo “give my Boo lots of head pats and kisses”
Showed her how to make them private and tell her friends and clients how to make them private.
This is how people learn and care about financial privacy.
Go and do likewise :)

A society that arrests grannies for wearing T shirts=speech, in protest of starving, maiming, and killing other peoples’ grandchildren….
Signal’s Meredith Whitaker was one of the organizers of the 2018 Google Walkouts. She resigned in 2019.
She saw people-including herself- be retaliated against for speaking up /protesting.
People like her made Signal what it is—often cited as the best private chat app.
Going to a large sporting event tomorrow and hoping there will be someone to bitch@.
I would like privacy tools so easy that my father and grandfather could easily use them.

There are privacy and security moments in the timeline - similar to 100k bitcoin - where friends and family, who thought you were crazy (Bitcoin) or paranoid (privacyand security)…
…then text and say hey I want to learn more about how to protect myself and what tools are out there.
Also feels good.
Young and old gamers are starting to be more aware and interested in privacy and censorship…and angry
Most only get interested when it affects them …

Air Marshals Shift to Deportation Duty
Marshals on ICE flights are performing a range of duties, including checking detainees for lice and cleaning aircraft, sometimes while unarmed.
I don’t think people realize how much the big companies that provide the mainstream infrastructures and products…
…are run by a mixture of arrogance and incompetence bred of ego (and the illusion of superior intelligence due to wealth and power).
Seen it, hear it.
And I thus act accordingly …
I have put in so many different birthdates online-they probably think I am 100 or more different people …

IMO, you have to spend Bitcoin to truly see the full magic of Bitcoin, Lightning (and other L2s), Cashu et al...
Friendly reminder that Google started out with idealistic and good intentions, too…
