The child who once said he was “a girl inside” and loved pink, butterflies, and dresses made a surprising statement at 17: after irreversible chemical castration, Avery declared that he wasn’t really a girl, but “non-binary.” Avery was a child who liked pink and dresses and felt uncomfortable with his male body.
