Starting at 15:45 in this press conference - this is what real leadership looks like.
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox is the first public figure I’ve seen with a compassionate and thoughtful response to the Charlie Kirk assassination.
If only our president was as wise.
I encourage you to watch.
Whatever reason an assassin had to murder Charlie Kirk, nothing good will come of it. If the shooter was against Kirk’s ideas, he has only succeeded at strengthening them.
Let’s not forget that Charlie Kirk was one of the conservative voices putting pressure on Trump to release the Epstein files.
Much more pressure than any democrat could apply, since Kirk had MAGA’s ears.
The wave of self righteousness from America’s right has begun.
While they call for accountability and accuse the left of violence, they themselves will continue to demonize liberals, demonize immigrants, manufacture conspiracies about democrat pedophile cabals, persecute minorities, cancel DEI supporters, and most ridiculous of all - continue their enthusiastic support for a president who has promoted violence repeatedly against his political enemies, most recently with threats of war and violent imagery against Chicago.
Many people are immediately jumping to the conclusion that Charlie Kirk’s assassin was motivated by leftist political ideology.
They might be right. They might also be wrong. The kid that shot at Trump was just a kid with mental issues, probably schizophrenia.
But don’t try to tell people that, they’ll attack you just as swiftly as they are to lionize Charlie Kirk.
