BIO : WHEN BITCOIN BECOMES A TOOL FOR REAL HUMAN IMPACT . In many parts of Africa, thousands of children live in orphanages where basic needs are not always met. Behind the walls of these centers, daily life can be harsh: limited food, inadequate healthcare, deteriorating infrastructure, and restricted access to education. This is the reality that led to the creation of Bitcoin in Orphanages (BIO), a project built on both compassion and innovation. A MISSION ROOTED IN URGENCY Bitcoin in Orphanages (BIO) is an organization dedicated to improving the living conditions of children in orphanages, currently operating in Benin and Togo, with the ambition to expand to other countries facing similar challenges. The idea behind BIO is simple: no child should grow up in neglect due to lack of support. In many of the orphanages BIO works with, the needs are urgent and ongoing: 1. insufficient access to food 2. limited medical care 3. unsafe or deteriorating living conditions 4. lack of educational resources A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO CARE Since its launch in 2022, BIO has taken action across multiple areas: 1. providing food and essential supplies 2. supporting access to education through school materials 3. improving healthcare access 4. renovating and building infrastructure 5. creating moments of joy and emotional support for children.
