I just spent time posting Cincinnati Bitcoin meetups on @Local Bitcoiners' website and then learning about other nostr clients it posted to. To be honest, very unfamiliar with nostr the protocol. What does a non-technical guy need to know, or where can he go or learn?

I am in the training process to be a deacon at my church. This spring was a college-level theology class going through the Reformed tradition, our church philosophy, and Presbyterian governance. We’ve had a little independent work this summer before an exam next month and then interviews with elders.
They might kick me out if this gets out, but I’ve usually not been the biggest fan of Tim Keller’s writing. This however, was very, very well done. Every time I had a question, I’d find it was the subject of the next chapter.

Friend just gave me 20-25 pounds of beef fat! I believe mostly kidney fat. I want to make soap and balm next. Anyone have any tips? @SoapMiner
Getting a custom lightning address on @Radar is pretty cool!
“However, the most catastrophic consequence of fiat can be seen in the health outcomes imposed on its people.”
This is one of those books that will shatter the glass through which you see the world. I knew some of this, but not enough.

Congo vs. Uzbekistan in Atlanta last night. What a game to attend. Went with my childhood soccer friends

3-2-1 night at Great American Ball Park this week. My first Busssscccchhhh Light. The best beer is the right beer for the situation. Sometimes I forget that.

Where I live, it seems like Toast has pretty serious control over small business POS systems. I’ve even seen Clover a few times recently. Not much Square. Anyone else notice this?
Cincinnati Bitcoin will be hanging out at Braxton Covington Thursday evening. Please join if you’re in the area!

I've been using AI in earnest since early 2025. I got a ChatGPT subscription last spring when I was consistently running into message/photo limits. I was asking a lot of questions about home projects.
I've used AI very frequently as a research and thinking partner, but it's been more of a challenge to get into building. I've had Claude Code at work and used that to create a Mac Claude Code onboarding page for dummies (me), but agentic workflows have been more of a mental leap for me. At work, some of that has had to do with access issues and bifurcated tools that disallow me from making obvious flows to solve administrative tasks.
I recently upgraded my ChatGPT subscription so I could use Codex, and I made an agent that creates Meetup events for Cincinnati Bitcoin. I tinkered a lot last weekend, creating a couple templates and md files and trying to find the right workflows for different types of sessions. There were some limitations since my Meetup subscription doesn't grant access to APIs. But today, I one-shot an event successfully. It created the page, event name, updated the description for the topic, created a new image and got me ready to publish in about seven minutes. Only thing I had to do was manually upload the photo. It's not able to do that and I haven't found a solution yet.
I am mildly technical depending on the circle. On Nostr and in Bitcoin, I frequently feel like a dummy. So I am sharing as encouragement for anyone who may be in the same boat!
And here is a link to this Thursday's social if you happen to be in the area. We'd love to hang out with you.

I posted this November 2022 at the absolute bottom. Even if we’re not at the bottom quite yet, today has felt the same. And I’m still here smirking.
Saying that, four years ago I was two years into my Bitcoin journey and thought I knew, but I’ve learned so much. In another four years I’m sure I’ll say the same thing.
“Stay humble, stack sats,” isn’t just to keep your stack growing, it’s to keep yourself growing.

This week feels much more like a bottom than February. I cant quite explain it. But it might have to do with the plausible narrative that capital is flooding to the incoming AI IPOs. With that, I’m thinking we might have a while to stack some cheap sats
Modernity kinda sucks fr
