One of my takeaways from TFTC 404 with Konstantin Kisin:
Don't fight fire with fire. Not even the metaphor works ๐

Low status fiat heretic. Often wrong. 2 + 2 = 4
Today I learned about Operation Choke Point:
Interesting how many familiar names are involved (e.g. Elizabeth Warren). Also, of course it's political. Instituted by Obama, stopped by Trump. Probably why many on the left would support such a fascist policy, just due to Trump Derangement Syndrome.

What if Bitcoin is the only way society gets held together during the resistance against rogue AGI? Seems like all other money systems would be compromised because they're structurally open to catphising by a deceitful AI
Just paid for dinner at a London restaurant with lightning. Really great food and vibe!

Governments don't care about stopping criminals. Criminals are a tiny percent of the population that don't compete with the state. If anything, politicians rely on criminals for their own marketing.
Many laws are thus meant to control the population, but advertised as targeted towards criminals.
Just watched a colleague give a presentation on "sustainability" and trying to tell me how, for example, seaweed harvesting will solve "food problems".
So many parallels to shitcoining.
Hoping Clarkson's Farm Season 2 plants the seed for some future libertarians.
Beautiful exposition of harmful bureaucracy in the name of democracy.
Bitcoin podcast ad reads are so cringe. Often makes me think twice before sharing an episode with a precoiner
Funny how as soon as people start questioning the mainstream narrative on anything, they often end up asking about the Fed. Central banking NEEDS us to accept authority narrative in general or else it puts their existence at risk. Basic incentive for them to fund all kinds of nefarious propaganda.
Not even a conspiracy theory. CBs enable governments in plain sight, and govs are constantly cracking down on dissent in their own culturally tailored ways (e.g. Iranian executions vs. Canadian bank account freezes).
Lovely essay about financial bubbles by Tim Harford in the FT.

Always wonder why people obsess over how strong MicroStrategy hands are. They've got around 130k BTC, and yet almost 330k new BTC are mined each year in this epoch - much of it by pro miners who need to sell to cover expenses.
Wondering how much GDP growth percent people would trade for national sovereignty? Keep seeing this "slam dunk" argument as if Brexit was a mistake because we might have 1% less GDP growth ๐ค
#[0] Curious to know why Twitter never got close to something like zaps while you were still there? Was it a tech or regulatory issue? Seemed so close with lightning tipping. Apologies if you've already answered this elsewhere
