For those new to the #nostr protocol/ecosystem please do not enter in your nsec to browser based apps/services! If the app does ask for it don’t use it and wait until they integrate with an extension like @Alby Developers out there please don’t socialize this type of behavior especially for new users who have had years of “trust” conditioning of “logging in” to a platform. There is a lot new concepts to grasp for those new to this.

Recently listened to this podcast on the WhatsApp’s key transparency system. I started to consider a few things. First, how the field of cryptography is endlessly fascinating and does serve to create systems that feel a bit like magic. Second, centralizing management and agency just breeds complexity. And at the scale of WhatsApp it just mind boggling. #nostr of course pushes this management complexity to the edge of the graph where I currently feel it’s best. However I do recognize this as a potential blocker for larger adoption. If a multi billion dollar project like WhatsApp does this what does it say about the populous and their desire for control? Also good grief with their “distributed validation” 🙄 #nostr #cryptography #grownostr
