I have been gaming since 1992 and building PCs since 2003. I enjoy Linux, supporting FOSS projects and am a tinfoil hat connoisseur.

Phoronix recently benchmarked the StarFive VisionFive 2 SBC. It's a RISC-V system that is on the cheaper side. I am always happy to see more RISC-V systems regardless of how well they do at the moment. Hopefully more optimizations and work can help it improve down the road. The benchmark is here: https://www.phoronix.com/review/visionfive2-riscv-benchmarks The SBC itself can be found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/GeeekPi-VisionFive-RISC-V-Integrated-Without/dp/B0C4DQCV29/ref=sr_1_1?crid=37XB2LZS3AJK8&keywords=vision+five+2&qid=1692207585&sprefix=visionfive+2,aps,152&sr=8-1 #riscv #phoronix #foss #linux #sifive

This week's donation went to the OpenAndroidInstaller project. It allows for easy install of various deGoogled Android operating systems to mobile phones. For instance on my Pixel 2 it was as simple as a dozen or so mouse clicks and downloading two files to get Android replaced by LineageOS. There weas no use of a temrinal required for the install and this will really help non tech saavy people get free of Android as well as save time for those who are tech saavy. There are over 60 devices supported at this time. The project code is licensed using GPLv3.0. The main website for the project is here: The source code is on Github: The project has a presense on Mastodon: If you wish to help the project financially with a donation you can do so through Open Collective and Github: #foss #openandroidinstaller #opencollective #github #mastodon
