This approach causes messages that are never read to never leave the "requests" tab. It would be better if there were "accept" and "reject" options; the first would move the request to the inbox, and the second would remove the message request from the requests tab.
The user could read the content even without deciding between "accept" or "reject" it; however, if they responded or took any action, it would automatically go to their inbox.
