Ultimately, give the world more than what you take from it. Yes, making an arbitrage play on currencies or equities might earn you more money. But what good did you offer to the world? If only you were importing a product and offering it to your local marketplace for sale and make a profit from that transaction. At least in this case you're answering a certain need - people unable to get that product from anywhere else (like importing iPhones to countries that don't have apple stores)... Be productive. Be of service to others. Make the world a better place. Earn money for the value you bring. Spend less than what you made and save the rest. Repeat.
