Those who disagreed were scorned and ridiculed and threatened with fines, arrest and imprisonment. Many were assaulted in the process.
Since then, the "cookers" were proven correct however no matter how much evidence is brought before the statists they're still absolutely dedicated to the narrative that the lying talking heads on TV kept pushing.
