Would Bitcoin still have demand 100 years from now? This was the sharpest question I got during a full-day Bitcoin training last Friday. “Just because something is in demand yesterday doesn’t guarantee demand tomorrow. Case in point: Labubu.” I’m very grateful for this question because it is one few rarely voice. In essence, they are asking whether they’re looking at a bubble with good branding. So here’s the distinction I’d offer. Labubu is manufactured scarcity with a production schedule that can be revised. When demand rose post Lisa Blackpink, a company can manufacture more to meet demand. Executed well, demand might sustain. An oversupply, however, eventually dilutes what made it desirable in the first place— an event we saw happen to Labubu in 2026. Gold is one step better. No company sets the supply. But gold’s supply responds to price. When gold rises, miners dig more. Bitcoin is absolute scarcity. If the price went to a million dollars tomorrow, the network would issue the same number of coins on the same schedule. That property— supply that cannot respond to demand— has never existed before in anything humans have used to store value. So: will Bitcoin be in demand in 100 years? The demand for something that can’t be diluted has never gone to zero in recorded history. Every generation has needed somewhere to put savings that a committee can’t quietly print away. And to be clear, it didn’t begin with Bitcoin. For thousands of years, it was gold. For past decades, it was real estate. Bitcoin is emerging— absolutely finite, fungible, divisible and currently stands at a trillion dollar market cap (a threshold few appreciate how hard it is to reach) and has a global liquidity depth of approx. $60 billion in daily volume (deeper depth = easier convertibility to cash). As long as there are people who value these properties of Bitcoin (myself included), there will be standing demand for Bitcoin. Hence the properties of Bitcoin are what to watch. The metrics measuring them are rising. Watch those, and you’ll reach your own conclusion about whether Bitcoin stands the test of time— 100 years or more. #Bitcoin #NoBeliefRequired #JustDeepUnderstanding
