The southern cross. I miss the bear and north star of my native northern hemisphere, but the southern cross is pretty great too. image

Its a bit of a unfortunate story of how we got here, but if needed you can compress a brake cylinder with a bottle jack and tie down strap when you don't have a C clamp available. image

Our camp last week on the banks of the Kafue river. There's nothing like hearing hippos laugh in the early morning. image

How I use BTC in Zambia, and what challenges I still face. I am a native of the US, but I live and work in Zambia. However, I receive my salary in the US as USD. My primary form of payment Zambia is to Swipe a credit card and this works quite well most of the time, but occasionally I need to use cash or mobile money which is connected to the cell service provider here in Zambia. The options are to go to an ATM which works reasonably well, but but has associated fees and ATM machines occasionally run out of cash. I can move money from my bank to MoMo using a PayPal app called Xoom, but this app offers poor exchange rates and high fees. I have also used strike and it offers lower fees and much better exchange rates. I would use this method exclusively, but I cannot connect my US bank account to Strike as Strike is KYCed in the Zambia. What I need now is a reliable method to buy  BTC directly on Lightning from my US bank account and then send to strike. Does anyone have recommendations? Coinbase does not work in Zambia. So even accessing my US coinbase is a challenge without a VPN.
