Funny story. I’ve started letting my oldest (late elementary school age) listen to select Darknet diaries podcast episodes. He loves the idea of being a hacker. We just finished an episode about social engineering using AI deep fake voices and number spoofing.
Today my wife gets a message from his teacher. He searched online in class and found a website that will do voice cloning. He then recorded his teachers voice and cloned it. He then used the cloned voice in class.
Sigh. Kids these days. I had to have the talk about using other people’s voice without their consent when I really just wanted to tell him I thought that was clever and funny.
Cleaning up and just found these two manuals. Can’t get myself to get rid of them. What are current gamers going to have to look back on with nothing physical shipping anymore?
Just remember Dads, your kids learn far more from what you do than what you say.
I’ve been talking a lot to my kids about integrity - do the right thing even when no one is watching. And yesterday I get called out for my driving habits after I explained to the kids why I had to slow down when we passed several police officers clocking people.
“Dad is that integrity if you speed when the police aren’t there?”
