Too Many Roosters = Food for the Family. 3lb 10oz of Breasts and Quarters Harvested Although I dislike the process of culling chickens, having too many roosters, presents an opportunity to eat the livestock we've raised on high-quality food we've grown. This allows us to consume those nutrients and feel like the cycle is complete. #homestead #chicken #grownostr image

We've been without AC in the house for a week now. After a long troubleshooting endeavor, I found that the blower motor in the air handler was the issue. These new style motors don't use a typical capacitor to assist on startup. Instead they use an ECM module that controls the current. Needless to say, we had to replace the whole motor. I was fortunate enough to still be in the warranty period by 3 months! Also our social capital came through. A neighbor is an HVAC contractor and was able to call in The warranty replacement for us. Apparently the home owner can't do this. Overall, the replacement went pretty smooth and I learned some things with the new motor type. My family is finally cooled off again after some pretty hot and humid days here in Oklahoma. #HVAC #DIY #socialcapital #homestead image image

*PROJECT UPDATE* Custom Cedar Raised Beds 4x8x18" After a long evening yesterday and a very sore back today, we got the foundation of the raised beds set up. The dirt work was finished so we got in and added the border and landscape fabric. This client is going to love stepping out their back door for the most nutritional dense food around. #OrganixLandscapes #build #project image image image image image

Last update of the morning.. we got another round of chicks. Seeing them 1/2 price at the farm store and already 2-3 weeks old was a huge incentive. The crew we added in the spring is starting to lay but ended up with more roos than planned so here we are. #chickens #sale image

The okra is loaded every day. I can't believe how fast and productive this has been. Saving seed has its benefits. The saved seed has genetic triggers from environmental stresses that are passed down through offspring. The next gen seed is then more adapted to the local climate, disease resistance, pest resistance, larger crop. image

#weedstr harvest. These are the most dense plants we've grown out here. A lot less bud rot compared to recent dryer years. I thought for sure with the rains and high humidity we were gunners this year. The only difference is I've started feeding with liquid #IMO in a #JADAM fermented brew. The recelience is impressive. image image image

Garden growth this year. The more we build the soil fertility the more production we get. Hard to believe this was a subsoil dirt patch less that 4 years ago. It's now teaming with life and a habitat meca. #regenerative #permies #grownostr image image image image

Some Redbud Haze outdoor. These genetics were from nostr:nprofile1qqsra029hqa94wl3szszwa85surl9qfyfu48l49emrqnvx9laky9rxgpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj70fgu2q it has been susceptible to but rot outdoors but these genetics get some massive colas with some of the finest smelling aromas of fermented fruit and slight lemony on some plants. The smoke is sweet and pleasant. We'll keep battling the bud rot but may cross it with the Cherrianna Grande to get some resistant genes introduced. #420 #weedstr #grownostr image
