GA Nostr friends. What do we think, Nostriches? I've begun to hate my Umbrel device that Hubby was so kind to buy me a few months ago. It works for a few days, but then ultimately manages to freeze up our entire network until it's disconnected the router has been rebooted. @Oshi (推し) recommended Start9, which I did have installed an on old desktop for a while, but was kinda meh about because it didn't offer as many apps as Umbrel. Now I'm wondering about backing up all my movies and other files, and possibly repurposing the Umbrel as a Start9 device. Any thoughts? Is this just a terrible idea?

GM Nostr friends. No winter storms here, but we are definitely in the Arctic blast zone. Very VERY cold outside this morning, so I have all the curtains drawn in an effort to keep what heat we have inside. Kinda need a few groceries today, but I really don't want to go out if I don't have to, and I'm not the kind to pay delivery fees to have some other poor soul go out and get stuff for me. Guess I can do without bananas for a while longer! I just started watching Dept Q on Netflix. Anyone else seen this? It reminds me a bit of House MD (Hugh Laurie as the brilliant but caustic head doc), but with British detectives instead. So far so good! Seems like there are some solid characters. I do love a mystery. Realized two days ago that I couldn't find my credit card for Hubby's Visa account. Looked everywhere I could think of, but nothing. I'm not generally one to lose things, so I asked him to lock the account. Was planning to tear up the house this morning while he went to work on his mom's house, but we got to talking before he left, and as a last resort, I asked him to look through his wallet. Voila! He IS the type to forget things fairly regularly. I believe a couple months back we went out for pho one night, and forgot his wallet, so I handed him my card for our account to go pay while I cleaned up our table. I guess he pocketed it and never gave it back. Goes to show how much I rely on physical cards these days! Stay warm and safe everyone. Have a good Saturday.

Good morning Nostr friends. Another cold one (it is winter after all), but not as bad as yesterday. You know it's cold when the hairs in your nostrils freeze up. It's a very peculiar sensation. Just drinking my coffee this morning, browsing my feed and discovered the wonderful Wordle knock-off, WORDS. Nostr-friendly, and I had to play. Definitely had to get my brain into high gear - it wasn't a particularly hard one, but I wasn't sure what the different colors meant until I locked a letter in the correct spot. Ahh, satisfaction. GA Nostr friends. Went to the dermatologist and had a couple small chunks scrapped off my skin today for biopsy. Not really expecting bad news, but never hurts to keep on top of my health, especially as a pale freckled white girl. Thank you to all the plebs out there who have been recommending tallow as shmear for their skin in the winter time. I ordered some recently and have been using on my face and dry skin. This has got to be the first winter I don't feel like my face is just going to crack and fall off with the cold. Definitely notice a difference when I don't have any on (or Lu licks it off).

GM Nostr friends. Frigid cold this morning, with -12F here right now. After I got Lu back in from her 10 second pee this morning, I realized the downstairs bathroom door was closed with the fan going and the light on. As Hubby had already left for work, I opened the door to find Lu had pooped on the tile in front of the toilet at some point last night. Wasn't fun to clean up (and no thanks to Hubby :blobdoubt: ), but I took care of it. Y'know, it was actually pretty smart of her. Whenever she's had to poop in recent history and I wasn't around to take her out, she goes in the bathroom. Rather unfortunate for the rugs we had in there, but makes sense in a doggy sort of way. Anyway, I'm off work today for MLK so just sitting on the couch with my laptop and iced coffee (I know, I'm weird, but it tastes really good today), just enjoying one of those videos of a fire in a fireplace with calming background music on. This is mostly so I can calm down and not have a conniption fit at Hubby when we message later today, but I'll take it for now. Enjoy your day, all.
