GM Nostr friends. After a hot weekend, our AC is finally fixed and chugging away to catch up with the hotbox that is our house currently. No idea how Europe does this on a regular basis. I was so hot and crabby trying to sleep the last two nights. Meanwhile, I'm on campus waiting to meet with my new team for my first day. I found a quiet little corner to sit and mentally practice my greetings so I don't come off as a weirdo. (At least initially.) Mental visualization is the only way I calm my anxiety in new situations.

GM Nostr friends. T-3 days until I'm done with my current role! Very excited to be moving on. Came back from the cruise with a bit of a sore throat and stuffy nose. Not great, but I've been taking my Zinc, so hopefully this is out of the way before I meet my new team in person on Monday. It is very good to be home. We've been so blessed to be able to take this trip, but I am always happy to get back to my regular routine. Have a good Wednesday, all.

When in Canada, you check out the local Costco. On a Saturday. Like an idiot. (The chicken and fries were actually really good!)

GM Nostr friends. Killing some time on the ship this morning before we disembark. Got the whole day to kill in Vancouver before we can check into our hotel this afternoon. Hope to find somewhere to go and hang out, as there are some rain clouds threatening, and we both have all our rain gear packed.

Good afternoon/evening Nostr friends! We're mostly through our Alaskan cruise. Today we're in Ketchican, our last port. Tomorrow is cruising all day, and Saturday morning we arrive back in Vancouver to disembark. One more day in Canada, then home. It's been a bit too much people time, but the views have been gorgeous. I even got to pet a black bear! ☺️

GA/GE Nostr friends. Today kinda got away from me with work stuff. We're now in the T minus countdown to leaving Friday for vacation, and then once I'm back, just four short days until I kiss this job goodbye and head for greener pastures. So many good things ahead. I'm so blessed and excited!

GE Nostr friends. With all the excitement, I forgot to share with you all - that interview I did early last week? I got the job! Found out at the very end of Thursday afternoon. I start on July 20th! I'll be working as a business analyst yet, but for a completely different department within the University. My friend works as the project manager for the team; it will be so lovely getting to work with her again. Feeling so blessed right now, but nervous at the same time. I have a meeting with my (current) boss first thing tomorrow morning to tell him. We've never really gotten along - long story there - but I do feel bad leaving the team at a time where we're really busy. I will not be sad to get away from him, but I basically grew up with the people in this department. Anyhoo, exciting.

GM Nostr friends. How on Earth did I somehow end up getting notifications from the latest Hell thread? I'm not a part of the cool kids club, never have been. 🤓 The last two weeks have been very stressful - both work and life-wise. Hubby's mom's house has a buyer, but with the contingency that we get the old well capped off. That's had a ton of issues (something far down is completely stuck, so they have to bring in heavy equipment to try and get it out). Hubby is stressed to the max because of it. He is picking his mom up to go do the signing and complete their part of the closing today, so that's going to be an amazing stress off his shoulders. The well still has to be finished before the buyer signs off, but he's willing to wait. I had my interview for my friend's team on Monday, after only learning about it and getting it scheduled this past Friday. The weekend was packed so I had no time to prep. Sweating bullets waiting to hear back. There have been been constant meetings for the new fed regs going into place July 1. With being in meetings and sort of having to pay attention, that leaves little to no time to actually DO things. I was so stressed that I actually gave myself hives on my arm, chest, and back this week. UGH. Here's to a quieter Thursday.

GM Nostr friends. It's been a while, sorry about that. Been insanely busy this past weekend helping Hubby with chores around Mama Baer's house getting things finalized before she signs the papers to sell this Thursday (whee!), and got in a long bike ride on Saturday. Sunday was church, and then I had to work several hours to load a bunch of files and run processes so I wouldn't be behind come Monday. Took longer than I planned, so the day was kind of a wash. Yesterday was just nonstop busy-ness, and I had a job interview(!!!) with a team still within the University that my friend is on. I only found out about it on Friday, so had basically no time to prepare. I felt like it just went okay, but my friend said it was great. Really hoping to find out soon. I'm completely burned out on my current job and the people. Rainy day today, so that makes my walks with Lu pretty short. Kinda nice, but it is good to get up and away from the monitor for a while.
