Question about #bitcoin. It's digital. All transactions are logged. But...it's private? How is it not just monitored by governments and corporations? Thanks in advance.

Very grateful for #nostr and #freedomtech today. Very much looking forward to setting up #Umbrel on a home server with my own relay.

Fack me. Long day fighting off oil companies trying to destroy the natural world. Just wanna drink whiskey, play StarCraft, listen to Outkast, and fuck off. Goodnight nostr.

I'm diving into #nostr and have been slowly pulled into #bitcoin as a result. I wasn't surprised to find out (after testing many apps and sites and wallets) that @jack made the easiest bitcoin app (IMHO) with #Cash app. Now to figure out cold wallets...

Protocols are patterns. Platforms are permanence. Patterns can grow, change, and adapt to survive in changing lamdscapes. Permanence is unnatural and therefore requires constant work, maintenance, and defense to endure. Embrace the protocol. #freedomtech #nostr #momentofzen

Should I load up my relay list? Is there any advantage? Or is the pre-loaded (#amethyst) 3 or 4 sufficient? #nostr #relays#

Our flock of #katahdin sheep grazing a degraded pasture, and disgruntled because of it. They will move in and out of this pasture over the summer so that the grasses, forbs, and clover receive the treatment that makes them stronger and push out the pricker bushes, nettles, queen ann's lace, and other plants. #regenerativeagriculture #vermont #sheep #holisticmanagement #videoa

I use #nextcloud every day (for 5+ years now) and #owncloud before that. I love it more every day. If there are any #nextcloud devs on #nostr, I'd love to know so I could send them my thanks.

Hey. I'm testing video links and offering something of an introduction to the #nostr community. Here's a video introduction of our farm and our #regenerativeagriculture work. This was done by Steward (https://gosteward.com) a community-lending platform for agriculture. We're a 5th-generation farm in Vermont. We're an accredited Savory Institute Holistic Management Training and ecological regeneration demonstration site—one of only 50 on the globe. We chase sheep. We chase chickens. We carry water buckets. We are concerned that producing food for our community is becoming increasingly difficult and illegal in the US. We want to address #climatechange through decentralized, regional, and contextually-appropriate strategies. We host thousands of guests per year on our farm in a farm stays business. We run #debian. We're freedom-focused. I'm happy to be here.

What censorship-resistant video protocols exist? #lbry? #Peertube? #Nostr? What would you recommend? Host your own files? #video #freedomtech #web3

My personal #linux journey began with #corellinux in 1999 and I quickly moved through #redhat and #suse before landing on #slackware. I was on a Gateway 2000 Solo 2500 laptop with a 333Mhz Pentium II and the blue nipple in the keyboard. I fed distro CDs into that thing like it was starving trying everything from #freebsd to #beos (not Linux, I know). My longest-run distros since then have been #linuxmint and #fedora. But after 24 years, I've happily landed on #debian 12. And I'm enjoying being too old to hop.
