Terrific illustration of why major internet sites that are openly edited and created are ultimately going to be the victims of organized campaigns like this... Another great and perhaps better example of this is the case of #Israel and how it dominates Wikipedia as much as it can while also paying people to drive discussion on Twitter and on other social media sites through their program Hasbara.

Kendrick Perkins is right... It's why the Latinos show up in force to support Latino boxers, why Mariotta was a big deal for Hawaiians just like BJ Penn... Kendrick just doesn't know about double standards.

>With some 90% of ballots counted, far-right libertarian economist Javier Milei had 30.5% of the vote, far higher than predicted, with the main conservative opposition bloc behind on 28% and the ruling Peronist coalition in third place on 27% That's what I like to see.

Honestly had no idea the Scouts had gone this woke - at events attended by elementary school kids and originally designed around united Judeo-Christian American identity, we got these guys marching around the jamboree in S. Korea: >The British Scout added that many Scout units and other participants in Korea for the Jamboree had been displaying and wearing Pride flags happily. https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/nation/2023/08/113_356925.html

>“In regard to homosexuality, I must say that I believe this is an attempt to remove oneself from the present, a refusal perhaps to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men daily, but in the imagination,” Obama, then 21, wrote to Alex McNear in November 1982. This is pretty pretentious writing with a pretty absurd admission... I wonder how he'll respond to this coming out. https://nypost.com/2023/08/12/barack-obama-told-ex-i-make-love-to-men-daily-but-in-the-imagination/?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nypost&utm_source=twitter>

The app I use (Primal for android) isn't giving me proper notifications on when something is liked or commented on and I've been away from the desktop for some time now so me apologies.

"Sexual desire is even more closely related to gluttony than are the passions of anger and dejection mentioned above. Nature herself has indicated the intimate connection between the two by placing the organs of sexual intercourse immediately below the belly. If lust is weak, it is because the belly has been made to go in want; while if lust is easily excited, it is from the belly that it derives its strength." - St Neilos the Ascetic #christr #Christianity

>"The fact that the defendant is engaged in a political campaign is not going to allow him any greater or lesser latitude than any defendant in a criminal case." Absolutely serious baloney here. #Trump is running for the most important office in the world and is facing criminal cases based on novel legal theories that were invented by a human rights court clown to get him and they're imposing regular, business as usual restrictions? #SCOTUS needs to step in.

Vaguely amazing that there are still places in the Lemmysphere talking about the need to defederate from Exploding Heads. Thought that we ran out of those long ago.

The diplomatic meeting came two weeks after the Russian invasion of #Ukraine, which was launched as Khan was en route to Moscow — a visit that reportedly infuriated Washington. During the meeting, Lu claimed that the stance seems to be the position of the PM and “if the no-confidence movement against him succeeds, all will be forgiven by Washington.” The document further shows that Lu warned that, if the situation was not resolved, #Pakistan would be marginalised by its Western allies. He added that if Khan remains in office, his country could face isolation from Europe and the US.

Strange that a lot of clients don't offer link previews I wonder why that is. It would seem like an obvious feature to deploy early on.

What's the chances that Mr. Elvis Chan is going to face any disciple for making false statements about the #Biden laptop? Probably roughly similar to the chances that Pres. Trump will win the #2024 election.

Originally heard these numbers on a System Update episode a few days ago - good to see them in print: >Most Americans oppose Congress authorizing additional funding to support Ukraine in its war with Russia, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, as the public splits over whether the US has already done enough to assist Ukraine. >Overall, 55% say the US Congress should not authorize additional funding to support Ukraine vs. 45% who say Congress should authorize such funding. And 51% say that the US has already done enough to help Ukraine while 48% say it should do more. A poll conducted in the early days of the Russian invasion in late February 2022 found 62% who felt the US should have been doing more. >Partisan divisions have widened since that poll, too, with most Democrats and Republicans now on opposing sides of questions on the US role in Ukraine. It's absolutely the case that we are approaching a breaking point in the Ukraine war -- this counteroffensive was really what it was all about, IMO. If the Ukrainians made some progress, it would be a sign that there was hope and much reason for further assistance... But it is becoming more apparent that that isn't how it's going to go down. More support for the war effort potentially just means more death. #Ukraine #Russia #War https://edition.cnn.com/2023/08/04/politics/cnn-poll-ukraine/index.html
