Now, teens from their robotics team won the Earth Prize, a global environmental competition for teenagers, taking home $12,500.
The project came to life when Zhi Han (Anthony) Yao, Flint Mueller, and James Clare, all students from NYC’s Stuyvesant High School, received a shipment of robotic motors. Unfortunately, the motors arrived damaged, with delicate brass pins bent and unusable. This firsthand experience sparked the teens’ motivation to rethink how products are protected during shipping.
Rather than accept packaging failures as part of life, the trio got to work. Inspired by kirigami — the #Japanese art of cutting and folding paper — they designed Kiriboard: a lattice-cut cardboard sheet that can flexibly mold around an object, cushioning it securely inside a box.
One of my best friends and favorite unknown chef, just launched “The Walking Palm Tree” A Culinary Journey of a Nomad.
In it, Sanaa Boutayeb shares moving memories along with a special recipe. Her story begins like this:
“My parents decided to divorce not once, but three times”
If you love cooking, traveling and good stories, I highly recommend you give them a read 📚🤓
The Red Queen Effect
In the novel, Through the Looking Glass, Alice finds herself running faster and faster but staying in the same place.
Alice looked round her in great surprise. ‘Why, I do believe we've been under this tree the whole time! Everything's just as it was!'
‘Of course it is,' said the Red Queen, ‘what would you have it?'
‘Well, in our country,' said Alice, still panting a little, ‘you'd generally get to somewhere else — if you ran very fast for a long time, as we've been doing.'
‘A slow sort of country!' said the Queen. ‘Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place.
If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!'
I willingly pay subscription fees to publications and apps I use regularly. Especially if they support Bitcoin and Nostr.

What is the best tool to read one-off articles locked down by paywalls?
