I paint in oil. Inspired by time, silence, and light. Each work is unique and for sale in Bitcoin. → https://isolabellart.it.com Paintings notes: #isolabellart Art gallery: https://gallery.isolabellart.it.com
There are people who follow me on Nostr and occasionally do me the honor of purchasing my paintings. Then there are those very rare occasions when people buy my paintings on my website or on Telegram and then subscribe to Nostr! image This is the case of @Orange Dad 🫂🎨 Thank you very much 🙏
Between one painting and the next, I’ve been reflecting on a dynamic that often repeats itself: the strong urge we feel to convince others of what we believe is right, or even “saving.” I’ve noticed it in very different contexts: some see Bitcoin as the ultimate form of money, others believe a carnivore diet is the only one truly aligned with our nature. I won’t go into the truth of these claims (each has its strengths and limits), but what interests me is the root of this tendency: why is the need to convince so powerful? Perhaps because: -we have an innate desire to share what has worked for us, hoping it may also help others; -agreement and resonance reassure us, strengthen our identity, and make us feel less alone; -sometimes we perceive our idea as a kind of “path to salvation” from an invisible harm, and keeping it to ourselves feels almost unfair. I believe it’s important to recognize that behind this drive there isn’t only arrogance or fanaticism, but also care, passion, and empathy. At the same time, it’s healthy to remember that each person has their own path and timing. Maybe the real challenge is not to stop sharing our convictions, but to learn to do so with listening, compassion, and respect. In this way, ideas can remain bridges, rather than becoming walls.
You’ve never held a paintbrush, you can’t tell oil from acrylic, but don’t worry: in contemporary abstract painting a couple of random smudges are enough to call yourself an “artist.” But if you really want to feel #art flowing through you, embrace the struggle, the effort, and the discipline: that’s where true beauty is born.
#Nostr is also a dopamine trap, and I don’t know how to break away from it. But there’s no point in painting without sharing your work. Nostr, along with Plebeian Market, has become my main showcase after my website. Instagram and Telegram are completely marginal. This constant posting and sharing feels like a drug I no longer want to depend on—but I don’t know how to quit. The cycle between the need to create, the need to share, and the immediate gratification (or frustration) that follows—I realize this is a very common dynamic among artists and creatives online. Still, it makes little sense to paint just to leave the work locked away in a drawer. Art also lives in the eyes of others, and tools like Nostr or Plebeian Market give a visibility that a static website struggles to offer. But this constant exposure also becomes a cage, because it makes you dependent on reactions, notifications, statistics, hearts, and comments. This “dopamine trap” I feel around me is starting to feel tight. The only solution I see is to share my work just once a month. I don’t want to disappear—I just want to live and paint. It’s not about “stopping sharing,” but about regaining my autonomy in deciding when and how to do it.
L'ATTESA DI UN MOMENTO image ✓ ORIGINAL oil painting (WITHOUT FRAME) ✓ Size: 40x40 cm ✓ Materials: Oil on canvas There is an instant that never quite happens, yet you hold it in your breath: a light withheld, a shadow lingering on the edge of day. This painting does not speak of before or after, but of that precise second when everything waits — the soul suspended between hope and silence. Take it with you: let it remind you that every waiting is already life. 🫂🎨 🎨 Available immediately here 👇 Or here 👇 #art #artstr #isolabellart

Consistency matters. If you stand for certain values on #Nostr, you should reflect them on other platforms too. If you choose to wear a badge on Xitter or Instagram, you can’t pretend not to wear it on Nostr. Consistency speaks louder than words.
I only sponsor my wife @🟡 BeaUnique but she pays me in pizza and eggplant parmigiana. If you want me to sponsor you too, now you know how to do it.
My best sponsors on Nostr are those who keep my paintings in their homes around the world. And I couldn't ask for better ones.
It’s curious: outside Italy there are people who appreciate and share my art, while at home I remain almost invisible. Often those who know you closely — family, friends, neighbors — are the first to downplay or overlook your merits, while strangers are more likely to offer respect and admiration. Perhaps it’s true: no one is a prophet in their own land. But that’s fine. Art travels freely, without borders, and always finds the eyes that know how to see.
