There's a lot to be excited about in the upcoming Postgres 18. My favourite improvements are:
✅ UUID v7 for time-ordered, index-friendly IDs
✅ io_uring for major async I/O improvements
✅ Index skip scans for more efficient queries based on composite indexes #postgres
