Citizens and volunteers report that SENIAT officials are attempting to seize donations at a collection center in Quinta Crespo. According to reports from the scene, officials threatened to confiscate food, medicine, water, and other essential supplies intended for families affected by the recent earthquakes. While thousands of Venezuelans await aid following the emergency, this video shows several soldiers trying on and measuring shoes. The images have sparked outrage and reignited criticism about the priorities of those who should be focused on assisting the affected population.
International rescue organizations denounce obstruction by Venezuelan officials
INSTEAD OF HELPING, THEY LOOT. Venezuelans complain about the lack of resources and the little help from the local armed forces; not only do they not help, but they loot.
Last night our team delivered food directly to people who need it

Even in the midst of tragedy, unsung heroes emerge. A street vendor risked his life to enter the rubble and help rescue two trapped people, demonstrating that solidarity can make all the difference in the most difficult moments.

This is a reality now in Caracas: thousands of people sleeping in tents in plazas, parks, and shelters, all depending on donations from others.

What we have done to help today:
$38 to buy tarpaulins to cover refugee tents
$200 to buy baby formula and kids food
(They haven't sent me all the photos from the report yet)
$150 for supplies for rescue teams in Los Palos Grandes (affected area in Caracas)

#venezuelaWhat we all feared is already happening: the National Guard, the police, and the military are hoarding and stealing the tons of supplies and food collected by the civilian population. They're hiding it under the pretext of being the only ones "authorized" to distribute it, and they're stealing it.
This is heartbreaking ππ
That's precisely why I've made such an effort to get all the donations directly to the people who need them.
But even so, what's happening is heartbreaking.
Everything is escalating very quickly, and it's very likely that all of this will end in a civil uprising.
I only ask God that at least something good comes out of this, and that that good is that the people can finally get rid of this corrupt government.
