Cringe is culture's secret sauce. It is very hard to harness "the cringe" for creative purposes, because being cringe is initially socially unacceptable. Hence, the only barrier between cringe and culture is self confidence.

I'm trying to watch a Street Fighter 6 invitational tournament. But... they are spending more time talking about, introducing the players, and reviewing the matches then they are actually showing the matches. Primarily because the match format they choose concludes too quickly. Hopefully once they are done with group stages they deliver longer matches so the ceremonial aspects of this don't feel like torture.
