Income tax is not the main pain point for hawkers or SMEs but the attribution that forced to entry VAT system is the main reason because VAT law has written for 30 years ago and do not update the minimum income that have to entry to VAT system.
Thus We have seen many Zombie companies that have limited their income for VAT exception in Thailand.
From above, it is 1 of reasons that Thailand economy has not grown as Govt. expectation.

I’ve gotten the reason that cabinet has approved to cut Gasohol91’s price by excise tax’s cutting.
If they cut both of Gasohol91&95 then they will lose more revenue than cut only Gasohol91 because Thai people have used less Gasohol91 than Gasohol95 since the distortion policy in Gen.Prayuth era and they can claim their election’s campaign.
Although Govt. Revenue has reduced from an excise tax’s cutting, however, VAT will increase to recover the lost one from the multiplier effect.

They have changed accidentally 2024 New Year Holiday from 2 Jan 2024 to 29 Dec 2023 since 2 hours ago.
