I’m seeing and hearing some very silly takes that bitcoin is going “mainstream” It’s really not. 2024 was a phenomenal year for Bitcoin, especially in the US, but it’s still ridiculed by much of mainstream media and certainly within ‘educated’ social circles around the globe. The man on the street has never mentioned the word bitcoin before. I’ve got plenty of videos to demonstrate this and I’m working on some more that you will see in January. We are a long, looong way out. The upshot is that there is a tremendous opportunity to get involved in the space, to educate, advocate and tell better stories. So get involved and make 2025 your year 💪 💜

i am once again spending my down time creating silly, niche quizzes for mates. I’m working on a new years quiz for tomorrow night. Had a catch up dinner with some start up mates of mine in the uk last night. One of their businesses was effectively forced closed by a new FCA ruling. FCA is going full regard. I’m trying to persuade him and his cofounder to do cool stuff in bitcoin. Separately, a wealth manager they invited and I met showed a lot of interest in bitcoin but he says he can’t sell it to his clients who are farmers / boomer land owners around the north east because of volatility. His wife kept asking, “but what is bitcoin though?” She’s the COO of an IT transformation company. Still very, very early.

Today is my birthday 🎁 Yesterday I took a group of friend’s out for steak. I paid the whole bill and it felt great. I could obviously not have done it without bitcoin. Today I surfed, finished a video about financial empowerment in Peru (publishing in one hour) and I’m taking my other half out for Thai food. Again, thank you Satoshi.
