The reason the “just build it yourself then” doesn’t carry much weight as a comeback when users suggest features on Nostr is because functional alternatives to Nostr actually still exist. Maybe that won’t be the case at some point and we’ll all be forced to be here, rain or shine. But for now, Nostr apps needs to find ways to appeal to users, not find ways to make demands of them.
