So many people comfortablely living in Western societies desperately want to be the oppressed underdog who will eventually overthrow the Bad Guys. They want to participate in some Big Thing. So much LARPing.

Today I tried my hand at baking bread. Used beef tallow in place of olive oil. Turned out pretty tasty. #nostr #cooking #food image

Unfortunately, I'm in one of the few states Salt Lending doesn't service yet (Alabama), but I am able to use LEDN. They have higher rates, but it's still a very cool unlock to live off Bitcoin without selling, assuming BTC CAGR is consistently higher than the rate. Just roll over the loan after 12 months and reclaim some of the BTC. Very nice View quoted note →

"We conclude that the concentration of wealth is natural and inevitable, and is periodically alleviated by violent or peaceable partial re-distribution. In this view all economic history is the slow heartbeat of the social organism, a vast systole and diastole of concentrating wealth and compulsive recirculation." -The Lessons of History, 57, Will & Ariel Durant

"Monarchy seems to be the most natural kind of government, as it applies to the group the authority of the father in a family or of the chieftain in a warrior band. If we were to judge forms of government from their prevalence and duration in history we should have to give the palm to monarchy; democracies, by contrast, have been hectic interludes." -The Lessons of History, 68-69, Will & Ariel Durant
