gm early risers Every now and then overnight I get a blip on my #nostr #relay and it looks to go down for a moment and then come back up again. Checking logs for the timeframe, I see a ton of "Subscription error: Maximum concurrent subscription count reached" occurring. Is this a DDoS attack?

I feel like I want to host something on Google Cloud just for the practice of navigating through it. But self-hosting is the fun part... I can't bring myself to lift something off my server and put it on the cloud. IT struggles 🤣

gm nostr #Thanksgiving yesterday went well with the exception of breaking down along the highway on the way home. A tow truck took our car and the highway safety folks drove my family and I to a nearby gas station where we were picked up by an Uber to take us home. A bit of a Thanksgiving adventure. The kids handled it really well. Thankful to have the family home, safe, and sound. Hope your holiday went more smoothly than ours. ❤️

I cannot recommend "What's Our Problem?" by Tim Urban enough. This book has been a total game-changer for the way I view and approach politics at large. It doesn't make any recommendations or opinions on politics -- instead, it spends the entire book talking about how to THINK about them. So my Bitcoin and Lightning nodes have been running rock solid for months now. That's a good thing. BUT I sure knew what I was doing better when stuff was breaking and I was in there tinkering trying to fix it. Now that it works? I'm gonna forget how to do all this stuff! Next time it breaks i'm screwed. 🤣

gm nostr Is anyone here exclusively nostr? Or are you sharing your time with other social platforms? I went back to X for to-the-minute election results. The algo and ads make it so, so noisy now. It had been a while. I tried Threads, and the algo is so aggressive I only saw posts about gaming nostalgia, streamers asking for engagement, or people complaining about Bluesky. Speaking of Bluesky - that feels a lot like early Twitter. A chronological timeline and no spam so far. Nostr has the best tech tho. 🔥

Am I starting to lean into #Ditto as my primary desktop Nostr client? hmmmmmm
