Mid day confessions ~ Sometimes I "Like" and Zap a note with a video clip w/o unmuting solely on the strength of the person who posted the clip or featured on the thumbnail. My great grands will curse me for being so frivolous with my sats.
In a world that operates on the #BTC standard, only real investors will invest (like...they can read and comprehend a prospectus). Everyone else will just save their sats. #My2Sats
We are at that point where it's become equally (if not more) as important to be as plugged into an IRL community as your cyber community. Find one or build one, but have one. #My2Sats
Drama is draining to some and recharging to others. I've met folks from both camps in my life. But it hasn't occurred to me until now how stark that line is within most social circles. It exist IRL & in cyberspace. Yeah I can pretty slow sometimes at making some captain obvious connections. I laugh at myself. It's OK Shash πŸ˜„πŸ€£πŸ˜‚. #RandomThoughts
Going through snail mail, with the expectation just about all of it will be going straight to the trash unopened. Glad I didn't, there was one hand written letter in the pile from a scarce friend whom is currently doing the mountain man thing in the hills of Panama Central America. Checking in on me. He's got prostate cancer. I'll file that one under the worst news I've gotten this month. He first hits me with all the progress he and wife have made on the property. About 2 pages of updates. And closes the letter with one sentence. "Yeah man, so I have prostate cancer and [insert wife name here] is getting on my nerves about it. Knowing him like I do it means it's probably too late and it's bad.
The stuff (plants, roots, mushrooms, etc) that are great for your body (and mind) usually dont taste that good or look pretty as a smoothie or shake. Sea Moss, Ginger, Tumeric, Ginseng,, Turkey's Tail, Lion's Mane, Beet Roots, Essaic, Chaga and a bunch of other stuff I didn't know how to spell. Personally, taste don't bother me. In the summer some ice and water does the trick and in the summer I'll make it a tea. No muss, no fuss. Uncle Bozz sent me a gallon, "portion for a month and put the rest in the freezer. This should last 3-4 months. Let me know when you need a re-up". He makes it from scratch (buys all the ingredients separately) and completely destroys the kitchen in the process. My aunt is used to it at this point.
Chopped it up with the pool neighbor for a bit. He's an OK dude. His oldest is starting college this summer. We're about the same age. I just started sooner then he did with the whole baby making biz. He's got one more to go. Soon to be #EmptyNester he's looking for a fast forward button to get the second one off and on. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜„
We know often our πŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί will likely pass on to the next life before we do. And that pain is more real then losing some of our 2 legged friends. But we often get another πŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί anyway. I can't explain it, can you?! For those of you going through one of those moments at present, my πŸ’œ is with you πŸ«‚.
I will be a grandfather in about a month. Mini me lives about 3 hours away. At the moment not sure I'll get to see her or baby anytime soon. The thought crossed my mind to drive down and visit them. But instead I called. Spoke to her partner for a bit as she was still sleeping. He's a bit nervous and anxious. He's about 4 years younger then she is, so probably feeling a bit ill prepared. We chopped it up a bit about his work stuff, small apartment, they will need to move basically within weeks of having a baby if timelines prove accurate. He's kinda nervous and worried about a lot of things that are unimportant. I was the same when I was bringing mini me into this world at an event younger age of 20 (think he's about 26). "That's normal" I assured him. You guys will be just fine. I felt the same way when I was in your place. I've been so wrapped up in other things, that I haven't had a chance to let the whole grandfather thing sink in yet. Maybe I'll get a book on it for the trip back. #WWAGGDO What would a good grand dad do?! 6 hours on the road or tend to affairs of the house. #RandomThoughts
When you live in a sunny, warm, place that is close to the beach. Expect to have a lot of weekend guests, daily visitors and always having people around. A problem you don't have when you live in an expired coal mining town that is generally cooler and far from the beach. #RandomThoughts
I have a text thread going my sister (probably as old as this phone by...now >5 yrs). Sister #1: bro, what r u doing today? Me: right now, posted up on the cliff with binoculars and the dogsters watching the night animals crawl into their dens and the 2 legged animals come out for their morning runs/walks. Sister #3: you spent all that to get up there with her to sit in the woods at 5am with binoculars? Me: Yup! They don't understand. I have two mistresses. And I love them dearly. They are peace and quiet.
A minimum of 3 cold showers a day, going through 5 t-shirts and consuming a gallon of water (literally) every day. What one must do when living in the sunshine state to stay conscious and capable. While still managing to shrink by 25lbs (in 4 months). Yes, maybe I'm a bit more nimble, but most def feeling physically weaker. It's both interesting and scary how fast one's body adapts to its environment. I did some work around the house yesterday and my body parts are speaking to me very loudly this morning. Like "Bro, what were you thinking man?!"
"Protect your neck" ~ Wu Tang Clan "Protect your time" ~ Shashue I know it doesn't sound as gangsta. But I've become fierce about it as I've gotten older. Throughout the course of your life, In most cases, women will have more of it (time) than men do. We are more likely to die sooner on average. Some will say it's bc men do more dangerous sh!t. Maybe, sometimes. But what would you attribute it to in this example. Wife adds to husband's weekend to do list "fix pickets on the fence by the rear gate". Husband prioritizes what he considers more important man stuff for a few weeks and puts off fixing the pickets on the fence by the rear gate. After all, fixing the pickets on the fence iby the rear gate is a cosmetic chore and he's has "real and dangerous" man chores that need getting done first. Husband comes home late from work one night many months later, opens front door and surprised to find an 800lb bear chilling in his kitchen. He tussles with bear and is subsequently killed. Did husband die at a younger age bc he does more dangerous isht?! Maybe yes or maybe no. The wife would have maybe never had the bear problem bc maybe she would have fixed the pickets on the fence by the rear gate when it just that. A few pickets on the fence that needed hammering. My sisters " the man died early bc he was stupid" πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ "Time", will be the theme for a few a few of my #Nostr notes this day. Good morning #Nostr #Plebs #CoffeeChain #GrowNostr β˜•πŸŒžπŸ•β€πŸ¦ΊπŸŒ…πŸ’œπŸ«‚
Wisdom is often obvious and simple. However, we fail to recognize wisdom bc our minds are busy with the emergency of the moment. Schedule sometime off of the hamster wheel and make that time a priority. Turn off the screens or Go for a walk/run in the woods or Meditate or Pray or Do them all. If you can't remember the last time you were twittling your thumbs "bored", you have a problem, you simply just may not know it yet. I am often guilty of this. I need to check myself. #RandomThoughts
When you feel like this, but You've been at your desk staring at a screen for the last 8 hours. πŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸ‘‡πŸ½ Rough week, but we've made it y'all. What are you #Nostr folks getting into on this fine weekend?! image
