Supporting the development of Free Cities: self-governing territories that uphold individual rights and freedoms.
When traditional governments intervene in the market economy, their actions have unintended consequences that usually lead them to intervene further. This creates a cycle of ever-greater interventionism that is ultimately unsustainable. Our new paper argues that Free Private Cities provide a solution by changing the way public services are funded and altering the way governments can operate within society. Recommended reading for those interested in the economic foundations of Free Private Cities.👇 View quoted note →

What will governments of the future look like? Alex Voss points to three trends that are shaping the future: 1. Special jurisdictions are becoming more numerous, autonomous, and are increasingly operated by private companies. 2. The world's population is increasingly mobile, and people with high-value skills are shopping around, viewing governance as a service. 3. Technology is enabling decentralization in numerous arenas, especially money. This gives jurisdictions more options to become financially independent. What other trends will be important to the future of governance? Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Alex's new blog post "The Future of The Market of Living Together" goes into detail: https://free-cities.org/the-future-of-the-market-of-living-together/ image
