My local bagel shop was brought an order of paper straws by accident. I begrudgingly stuck one in my iced coffee after asking if this was a permanent switch or a mistake. I took one sip and threw it away immediately. Paper straws are the worst.

The people with flowing liberal tears can’t fathom the fact that the US Government empire and social programs were funded by monetary colonialism. They’re not righteous social programs, they’re built on the backs of the poorest people in the world.

I’ve removed every social media app from my phone to take a break and I’m coming to the realization that Nostr is way less toxic to the brain without the doom engagement farming constantly posted on X

What are your thoughts on the argument that we are just documenting who owns what portion of the 21M and when we’re “transacting” we are actually just signing over our portion of that ownership to another owner?

I don’t think Bitcoiners highlight enough that what pre-dates gold is a ledger based monetary system.

Peter Schiff misses 3 things because of personal bias: 1) He won’t acknowledge that before gold, in a barter system, money was just a ledger of whom owed what to whom. Gold has fungible and portable monetary properties that allowed owners to possess and move it, but that has been co-opted by governments and central banks. 2) He agrees that software provides subjective utility value to people but won’t acknowledge that uncensorable cross border payments provides value 3) He claims that Bitcoin is not widely used as a medium of exchange, yet won’t acknowledge countries like El Salvador that have made it legal tender or merchants in circular economies accepting Bitcoin as valid It’s easy to tell that Peter Schiff has done a little bit of homework on Bitcoin but his arguments fall flat because he hasn’t done the work on the pre-gold history of money or critically thought about Bitcoin as a global uncensorable ledger
