I know we don't have that much users yet but I've been cooking a trending relay feed for the 44b relay.
It'll be interesting to compare it to the almight Primal trending feed.
Probably on a Jumble near you by tomorrow.
Join the anti-spam revolution, add this free relay to your write/read relay list: wss://relay.44billion.net - we want thousands of users \o/ spread the word

Thanks for those adding the wss://relay.44billion.net to their write relays list. Currently fixing some minor bugs on the relay that makes some events expire sooner than expected but it remains up. More users are welcome. Let's put some stress on it.

What is spam?
Some think agents shouldn't start threads, others follow them. Who is to decide what is spam? The relay? Not the one I built.
With wss://relay.44billion.net I propose a brand new approach to spam fighting. Users automatically vote for pubkeys relevance when requesting their events. It's a popularity contest if you will, but having fake followers won't help you, I'm not looking at follow lists, this isn't WoT.
A popular account may flood your timeline with hundreds of "gm @fiatjaf"s but by doing so it will eventually be unfollowed and lose their influence, unless it was a joke. The nuance is up to you to define.
Add it to your "write" relays (may add as "read" too), it's free. The popular you are within the relay's microecosystem, the more free DB space you get, and you get to show up on the global relay feed like the one available on Jumble.
Well.. better start with these simple and (strangely) popular ones:

Why would anyone open-source all this hard work if no grants or donations are on the horizon? Example: inflluencers (better marketing) will just copy it and renew their grants ahn? The logic to open-sourcing everything was always beyond, me. Now with AI, it's even more difficult to grasp.

I'm not angry, I'm disappointed. It is just that It took me months of hard work, lost sleep thinking about coding solutions. Then a rejection without any feedback looks like one of these things happened:
1) Some of the project reviewers didn't even review it
2) or The reject reason is personal as in someone there doesn't like me
3) or They just give "big" grants for those that are part of their closed-group
Which is frustrating.
Given how Opensats (Nostr part atleast) handle evaluations currently, I wouldn't recommend trying for a grant. I won't tag anyone from OpenSats to not sound as harassement, but maybe someone they follow would like to repost this. Such discussions may help make future Nostr project evaluations fairer.

I know some of you smiled when you read this. I like drama as well.

"We regret to inform you that your project was not selected for funding. [...no feedback whatsoever...] Feel free to apply again in the future"
Thank you for letting me know 🥰 Oh I sure will </sarcasm>
