gm nostr,
heading out for a quick swim at the beach. should i try connecting to bitchat or bitalk whilst i’m there?
both are looking cooler everyday but i must say, bitalk’s feature of connecting with users who share similar interests is wonderful.
lmk what you guys think?

nostrs listen up… so i was thinking about if and how a nostr client like primal could theoretically integrate view/impression counts, despite some technical challenges:
1. client-side reporting (voluntary feedback)
in this example, primal could opt-in to report which notes were viewed by users.
2. relay-based tracking
relays could track how many times a note is delivered (i.e., fetched) by clients.
3. lightning-paid “view count” protocol
we could design a mini-protocol where clients send a micropayment (e.g., 1 sat) to the note author or a designated analytics service upon viewing a note.
so if enough of our nostr ecosystem agrees, a new nip could be proposed like nip-xyz: view reporting events, specifying how a client can report that a note was seen.
what do you guys think? @jack @fiatjaf

i’m very new here but i’ve already realized that most users who start using nostr end up giving up on it and abandon the protocol in its entirety.
anyone have a good explanation as to why this is happening?
