I transplanted this maple from my neighbors yard about 2 years ago.
It was originally planted very poorly: compacted subsoil, hole just big enough for the root ball, didn't take the burlap off, and covered the surface with landscape fabric right up to the trunk. I didn't think it had much of a chance to survive. Something damaged the bark around the trunk severely, and it has this white stuff that might be a fungal disease?
There are some dead branches that I'm leaving in to deter the deer from eating leaves in those areas. There were also plenty of bad pruning cuts that still need to be cleaned up.
Overall, this has been a great success. I made sure the root zone got some good quality compost, and also gave it a few doses of compost extract to get the life going in the soil. I put another layer of compost on top as mulch, and the seeds it contained made a nice cover crop.

#memestrI turned the first pile of the season again, and started the second pile.
The first pile had a great run after the fourth turning. I'd like to see how it does after the fifth turn, but I only have one compost sensor right now so I had to move it to the new pile, which is heating up quickly.

this fourth turning is heating up nicely

New TTS model from Nari Labs: dia. Two speakers, natural dialog. Condition on input audio to control tone and emotion. Use tags like (laughs) or (coughs) for non-verbals.
Early release and rough around the edges, but it shows a lot of promise.
Early release and rough around the edges, but it shows a lot of promise.I gave this compost pile a 3rd turn a few days ago. It didn't heat up as much as I expected, and then the wind picked up again. So I wrapped the bin in a tarp, and that appears to have worked to shield it from the wind and retain some heat.
I think I'll turn it again tonight, just to see what happens and how it looks inside.

* No timestep distillation.
* Video diffusion, but feels like image diffusion.

This compost pile got even hotter on the second turn. Guess I'll have to turn it again tonight.
