I'm feeling so bullish right now. Friends, family, #Bitcoin, #Nostr, and even my golf skills are improving.

Unfortunately, I've never heard anyone mention Cash App in real life. It's always Venmo.

I know I can be a challenging person. Being my friend is probably difficult at times. But I really hate when people pay for my meal or whatever. I just hate it. I'd rather pay the entire bill than have someone pay for my small part. This isn't one of my super ridiculous things where I have a special fork at home (I do) or can't stand little squeaks or persistent noises. I think it's more logical (maybe 😂) People will often reject my insistence on paying the bill (usually multiple times) and attempt to placate me with the absolute worse statement. "Don't worry, you can get the next one." Fuck. I don't care about the money, but you've now volunteered me for a "next one." I will feel the weight of this debt as if I made the commitment. Is this fair? Probably not, but it stresses me out. So much so that I don't want to do a next one with people who do this. Is it rude to absolutely forbid someone paying? I've avoided it, but I don't like having expectations placed on me. I may not want to do a "next time." Or it could be two years from now. I've also encountered the types who keep a mental tab or make statements later on like "come on, you owe me a beer anyway." Generally, these people don't stay in my circle long, but it's occasionally long enough that it drives me nuts. Maybe I think about this way more than others. Maybe I should be quicker to grab the stupid little folder that waiters drop on the table as they run by. Maybe I should just be brutally honest up front with people. Maybe I'm nuts. Probably a combination.

Then again I'm not the law of what should and shouldn't be talked/cared about. Just an opinion. View quoted note →

I don't have a well formed opinion on the rest, but infrastructure does deserve more attention. I don't know who is or isn't funding it (I do as a user of products), but I don't see it talked about nearly enough. View quoted note →

Would be neat to be able to switch. Would also remove dependence on second layers. I bet some people would like Monero zaps too. Is it possible to have them bridged yet? Meaning we can zap each other even if neither of us uses the same currency. View quoted note →
