He's right in the sense that Bitcoin is what it currently is. Actually convince people to change the software or fork off. There's little point in most of the bickering I've seen. You can't stop people from making valid transactions. That's the whole fucking point. View quoted note โ†’

Some clients have a really cool feature (sharing notes as links that resolve to a web client) I've been using to get people to ask me about Nostr. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does.

@Zapstore I have a couple ideas for when/if your plate clears. I'm sharing here to see if anyone else has thoughts. 1. Add the ability to skip beta or pre-release updates. Currently, it seems like updates just pull in the very next item, which makes updates more cumbersome if you want to stay on "stable" releases (everything is working, so it's more of a preference than an issue). 2. Give devs the ability to add custom zap amounts, similar to an app price. I'm not saying it should be required to initiate a download. The point is to help devs indicate to users what they think the software is worth, or what is needed to maintain a financially healthy project. People can of course go higher or lower, but I think having this suggestion would better align Dev/user value expectations. There's actually quite a lot to consider here (per update, one time, per major point release, annually, abuse of the feature, etc).

"Questions behind questions" is the root of my issue and they're quite prevalent in society once you start looking for them. View quoted note โ†’

I appreciate that some people enjoy my company. But what I really can't stand is when people indirectly ask for my time. For some reason, I wasn't built to process ambiguity very well. "Do you work Wednesday (meaning the hospital)?" Nope, but that doesn't mean I'm not doing something else. I've actually had people leap to the assumption that I was saying yes to being free when all I really said was that I'm not working at the hospital. "What are you doing this afternoon?" Sitting at home looking like a bum with a cigar and coffee. I'll probably have a conversation with my cat and kind of understand what she's saying back. Is that really what you wanted to know? I know I'm a difficult person and that's why I have very few close friends who stick around. I just realized today that those who remain long term (all of them) are direct with me. There's no ambiguity in our communication. I simply can't build relationships that way.

I have these "Phoenix moments" sometimes and they're quite interesting. I'll get so bearish on the world around me that it motivates me to make changes that make me bullish on my future (this feels like a Phoenix rising from ashes). I'm unsure if this is good or bad for me (it can be depressing), but I think it's good. I seem to get stronger.

AI will probably commoditize itself. It's already seemingly harder to create a sufficiently large gap between models to hold market dominance. Even if you do make some massive jump, the others are just going to copy your copyware. And honestly how can you complain when you shamelessly copied other people's shit without permission? AI models being built entirely by AI will accelerate this process, driving profits forever lower. I see this as a good thing in the long run. I don't want a few people controlling it. Hardware, infrastructure, and energy are probably better plays for now, but I'm retarded and not an investor so I'm probably wrong.
