I love when people who don't work in emergency medicine (or healthcare at all) tell me the additional ways in which I should be sacrificing myself. As if I'm supposed to give every ounce of myself to others if I wish to be moral. I especially love it when people say we are overpaid. None of them ever apply and ask for less money to show us how it's done though. Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice. Saving any of yourself for yourself is selfish. This is one of the main reasons so many of us burn out (US perspective).
