Diesel engine manufacturer Cummins has agreed to settle an accused violation of the Clean Air Act for a record $1.675 billion. The company was accused of installing defeat devices and other "undisclosed" emissions equipment on almost a million engines used in Ram pickups, allowing the release of thousands of tons of harmful nitric oxides. The settlement, announced Friday by the U.S. Department of Justice, concerns the emissions equipment used on 960,000 diesel engines used on Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickups between model years 2013 and 2023. They share the 6.7-liter Cummins ISB turbo inline-six, 630,000 of which were fitted with defeat devices through 2019. A further 330,000 built from 2019 onward were also fitted with "undisclosed auxiliary emission control devices" that are also part of the settlement. These emissions equipment setups allowed the dissemination, rather than controlled burn, of nitric oxides, or NOX. These compounds play a role in forming acid rain and smog in the environment, and can exacerbate symptoms of asthma, if not cause it outright over a long period. NOX is also linked to a variety of other potentially fatal health problems.

Don’t use Ledger Live (the supplied software) with Ledger (use Sparrow or Wasabi) REKTBuildr 🔺🔺🔺 @rektbuildr Ledger Live embeds the genuine check into the apps listing procedure. As it is, they always doxx your device when installing or updating apps and firmware. I removed most tracking in Lecce Libre, but they still track you regardless. For the past couple days I'd been trying to find the genuine check code in Ledger Live There's "genuine check" labeled code everywhere, but I added tracing prints to it and none of that code was ever run when it checked the device. I thought that was funny so I continued digging. Looking at the Python code (below) instead of the convoluted Typescript from Ledger Live desktop, I finally understood what's happening Ledger's genuine device check is embedded with the listApps subroutine. It's kinda hidden there TBH I tried disabling the remote tracking and it's impossible, it breaks if you do. Which means Ledger knows it's you every time you plug the device in. During that procedure it lists which apps are installed in your device, so they also know what you're running on your HW. So right now there's no way to operate Ledger HW's anonymously. They know every time you plug your device in and which apps you have installed. It was even worse before Lecce Libre, it also tracked your crypto balances! So, the obvious question is why did they glue together apps listing and genuine check? They're not trying to save network calls, that's for sure because their software makes 2 thousand network calls for all sorts of unnecessary stuff (I've removed them from the sources and the system still works).

Ordinals are taking the piss ! I don't see regular people in the Bitcoin/Crypto space believing they will have more value in the future than BTC its self. The infinite #fiat attack - buy #ordinals at any price, after all, fiat is the Governments weapon of choice. The higher the price the more "people" will make and sell ordinals. Government cant buy Bitcoin without moving the price, & and cant spam the network as effectively with regular transactions without buying #BTC, but they can (with infinite fiat) buy ordinals (via a spook third party ). More ordinals will push #Bitcoin price down, because something thats gummed up with "#dick butts" is next to useless. Possible solutions ? 1/ Let it continue, let spammers loose their money. The more it is ignored the less perceived value the ordinals have. Cons Government can afford to do this indefinitely. Pros Doing nothing is much much easier _____________________ 2/ Bitcoiners create more ordinals - hope the spooks buys them - sell them and buy BTC with proceeds - Number Goes Up Cons Gov only buys their own ordinals You've just created more spam Conclusions Everyone who buys ordinals for an outrageous price is probably a spook. _________________ 3 #Alter the code to filter ordinals. I don't know if this is possible? Does this introduce new vulnerability's ? These are just my thoughts on the subject, hoping to inspire a solution.
