People who argue about "surplus labor" do not understand the concept of time preference. Workers are getting paid weekly because they desire goods earlier in exchange for their labor. Their bosses are paid for capital, which takes much longer than labor. Employers and employees are dealing with the different kinds of risk and impact that labor and capital have, respectively. In other words, you are simply redefining the property right in favor of the taker. It's really interesting when you consider that activities considered degenerate all have one thing in common: High time preference Murder? High time preference Theft? High time preference Lying? High time preference And what's also interesting is that all three of these actions are condemned by both Christianity and Buddhism, despite both religions having separate time periods, beliefs, and parts of the world. It's almost like concepts such as time preference form a universal set of ethics for people to follow. Makes me think of anarcho-objectivism. What do you think?
