There is not one item which value is increased or decreased by what the amount of currency is needed for a thing. The value is a social construct. Things don't cost more, but instead the currency for barter is either worthless or becoming more worthy. That's why prices of things are higher. It's not that the car is worth 20k more than last year. It's that your fiat currency is worth less.
