India told GitHub to delete BitChat because the app works during internet shutdowns.
The Cyber Crime Coordination Centre sent the order at 11:16 pm and gave GitHub three hours.
It listed "public disorder, riots, terrorism, organized crime, or internet shutdowns" as what the app could be used for.
The Home Ministry has suspended mobile internet around Jantar Mantar in New Delhi about five times since July 17.
BitChat kept working inside the shutdown the order complains about...
