it seems as long as mempool policy is the chosen battleground for value judgements of transactions, miners without scruples will consistently outperform the rest of the network through out of band processing. increasing the efficiency of a subset of miners is concerning in any circumstance.

you cant expect the bitcoin network to provide value if you yourself don't run a node or a custodian holds your coins.
