Pastured eggs, raw milk butter, ancient grain einkorn flour dark chocolate chip cookies and a glass of local raw milk.
Santa knows who the nice boys and girls are.
Just mentioned these kinds of protests in my video two weeks ago when I presented my case against registered animals and government involvement.
Don't screw with your food producers. You find out real quick where the real power in society is held. ๐ช

Creating is better than buying.
Anybody else out there making/creating during this gift giving season?
The consumerism behavior of Christmas is very off-putting to me. I've been deep in the wood shop lately despite freezing toes and numb fingers.
I can't bring myself to just buy something (usually plastic crap) for people just because of the social obligation to give a gift.
It has been a rough couple of days, but the show must go on. I find getting back to work and focusing on the task at hand helps return a sense of normalcy to life, but even in those moments all it takes is a glimpse to make you think you see your long lost pet.
The tribute previously posted here was added to the end of this video, but this weeks video speaks strongly towards my Bitcoin ethos and some of the challenges I think we are certain to see develop in the future--many of which are already occuring to our friends across the pond.
If you choose to follow on Rumble we had stopped posting there for a few months, but recently decided to resume. The video is still uploading on Rumble, but will be live shortly.
Have a blessed Sunday and give your pets an extra squeeze today. โค๏ธ
The Lord provides in life whether you have the eyes to see it or not. Luke provided us with so much over the years. The pets in our lives tend to define the little moments between the big ones. Giving us reason to pause and soak it in. Looking back at pictures this couldn't be more true. He was the perfect dog at the perfect time for our family. Always on watch and ready to serve. The past few years as we busied with family he eagerly took a slower and more reserved role in our lives as his age started to show and he had no desire to be bothered with babies or kids leaving those duties for our younger dog.
As a farmer, I've dealt with some pretty tough losses through the years, but nothing compares. Seeing videos of Luke make me think he's still here, looking out the window for him to come running back home or waiting to hear a bark to be let back in. I post this tribute selfishly for me as a reminder of his best years with hope he barks, wanting to come back home.
The last walk to do farm chores with our OG farm dog. 14 good strong years. I got him when he was about 6 months old, a rescue from someone who found him tied to a tree and abandoned as a puppy, living off of tree bark and bugs.
He took to farm life quickly, respecting the fence and farm animals and reluctantly allowing animals that needed a little TLC to shadow his every move. Luke was much harder to break of his desire to chase cats, but even that waned over the years. That hunting instinct helped reduce the groundhog pressure on the farm, where even in his old age and busted mouth he managed to catch and kill some massive pasture rats.
He also holds a special place in family lore for catching a squirrel that clung to life on his collar, leaving Luke bewildered and not knowing what to do next.
In his prime he would pull your arm right out of its socket, carrying anyone up even the steepest of mountains on family hikes. Despite his unknown breed composition and poor start to life nobody ever questioned the Husky in his heart with strength like that and paws worthy of a true beast.
Luke will truly be missed.
Make your next pet a rescue. ๐งก

The Earth seems to be warning us that we need to wake up and get our own six covered. Nobody is coming to save you.

I finally started making a few shorts this week as I teach myself new video editing software.
Full video here:
Self-reliance looks more and more desirable by the day.
We'll be doubling down here at the Homestead with focus locked in on building self-reliant pioneers.
We're making big plans to build intentionally in this direction.
Do you know where the chicken that you eat comes from? If not, you're probably supporting an industrial food system that Bitcoin is here to topple. Intentionality is critical during these times.
Practically new washing machine was busted. The American brand Maytag is heavily favored throughout this house for their warranty... However, we've discovered their warranty is next to useless.
I spent a few minutes on YouTube figuring out how to troubleshoot this thing. Turns out it's a $25 part held together by tiny plastic tabs.
Super glue. Two Dolla Fix.
Time to go back to washboards and wringing out clothes before air drying by the fire.
Anybody else out there starting to feel the crunch to finish projects before winter hits? ๐ตโ๐ซ
This videos performance within the YouTube algorithm really surprised us. It took off relative to a usual video for us ๐คท the majority of the video was just me talking to the camera with a mess of b roll overlaid.
Algorithms are weird, but the reach was crazy.

I can't wait to start weaving Bitcoin into our videos. Subtle and slow at first. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!
