The things my 2 year old had a tantrum over today: olives and brushing his teeth. He ate olives with the pit and by the third one I intervened and removed the pit and all hell broke loose (my bad). And after lunch he wanted to brush his teeth IMMEDIATELY and had a meltdown when I didn't bring the toothbrush and the toothpaste IMMEDIATELY!! I looked it up because it feels like a growth spurt and turns out there’s a “half-year storm” around 2 and a half, when emotional complexity starts to develop so basically big feelings vs tiny human 🥹 Anyway, all is good now. Key is to be present and comfort.
