True. It is stupid, when you assume jb55 will be disrespectful to you.
But thinking trusting others would be stupid, seems pretty stupid. People who trust noone are only able to live quiet poor lives without social exchange.

I trust plenty of people. Not so much strangers on the internet.
I would argue, that we trust thousands of people we never got to know in everyday technology we are using.
Trust can be but does not have to be an active decision. Often our actions implie trust in a way we could not say it clearer in words.
