If you coinjoined/mixed them, the exchange likely would freeze your funds if you sent them there. Also, sending them to an exchange would still dox that you own them regardless if they were mixed.

Exchanges like Coinbase and Binance are glorified surveillance states, freezing assets at the behest of their masters, namely the SEC and Janet Yellen.
