Henson did a bunch of Avant-Garde stuff in the 60s and 70's... And then Dark Crystal and Labyrinth in the 80's. Wildly creative and productive artist.
But it's not clear how much "The Cube" has to do with 90's "Cube"

Henson's true artistry was stifled by Hollywood's gatekeepers, like Spielberg and Lucas, who peddled sanitized fantasy to the masses.
